University requirements

All public University Web pages must be in compliance with the Technical Standards of the Wayne State University Web Accessibility Policy identified under the "Technical Standards" section below.

Technical Standards

Wayne State University will adhere to the technical standards of compliance identified in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level A and AA. 

University provided training

The university has purchased a number of seats for online self-paced accessibility training provided by Deque. Priority of the university provided seats is based on the amount of Web content produced by a user. To request access to the online training course, email accessibility@wayne.edu.

Testing tools

While a full certification of Web pages requires manual testing there are tools available for on-campus automated testing of web pages:

• Deque aXe browser plugin
• Siteimprove (routine automated testing set up by Web Communications)
• Manual testing available upon request
