Academic guidelines
The University maintains its commitment to make such course content accessible consistent with University policy, Section 504 and other applicable laws. Students in need of academic/course related accessibility accommodations should contact Student Disability Services (SDS) as set forth below. On April 24, 2024, the Department of Justice (DOJ) published a new rule on digital accessibility under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This rule requires the University’s web content, including academic course content, to be accessible starting on April 24, 2026.
To ensure compliance, this will require campus wide collaboration and partnership to ensure websites, electronic documents, digital tools and academic content are readily usable by all. The Accessibility Working Group is working together to create a plan with timelines for action that will lead the University’s work and priorities in compliance and alignment with the new ruling.
