Fall 2024 Tune-up Tuesdays schedule

Tune-up Tuesdays is a programming series hosted by the Office of Marketing and Communications. The goal of Tune-up Tuesdays is to give staff members across campus an opportunity to ask questions, clean up their website or even just drop-in and say hi to members of the web team and other communicators across campus.

Some Tuesdays will have a general topic and others will be open to any and all website questions. There's no need to register, just feel free to drop-in!

Meeting dates and topics

All meetings are held on Tuesdays via Teams from 11-11:45 a.m.

October

  • October 1: Siteimprove: reviewing scores and setting policies
  • October 22: News manager - getting the most of out the image, SEO and formatting features

November

  • November 12: Site analytics 
  • November 19: Faculty and staff profiles

December

  • December 3: open walk-in, any questions welcome
  • December 10: Social media

Programming in 2025

We will continue Tune-up Tuesdays in the Winter 2025 semester. New topics will include: 

  • Alternative text: when to use it, when to mark an image decorate and how to write good alt text
  • Revising your content: chunking your content and using heading levels
  • Writing descriptive links
  • Transitioning tables to text
  • Digital asset library
